How to Connect Jane to TrustDrivenCare via API

This article walks you through activating the Jane API integration inside TrustDrivenCare. Follow the steps below to get your appointments, patients, and data flowing automatically.


BEFORE YOU BEGIN

There are two ways TrustDrivenCare collects data from Jane:

• Jane API — used for appointments and patient data (set up in this guide).

• Staff Member connection — still required for sales data, covered in the next step.

Note: In the future, Jane plans to expose sales data via the API as well, which will eventually remove the need for the staff member method. For now, both are needed.


STEP 1 — ACKNOWLEDGE THE API NOTICE (EXISTING USERS)

If you are an existing TrustDrivenCare user:

  1. Go to Settings → Connections.
  2. Click the shaking eye icon and read through the notice.
  3. Copy the authorization text, paste it into the field to confirm you are aware, then proceed.

New users: skip this step — the notice will not appear for you.


STEP 2 — ACTIVATE THE JANE API

  1. In the Connections screen, locate the Jane API section.
  2. Find the first part of your Jane clinic URL (e.g. "yourclinic" from yourclinic.janeapp.com).
  3. Paste your clinic name into the field provided.
  4. Click Authorize — you will be taken to a Jane login screen.

STEP 3 — LOG IN TO JANE

⚠️ Important: Do not use a password manager (1Password, LastPass, etc.) to autofill your credentials on this screen. Autofill moves too fast and will trigger an error.

  1. Type your Jane email and password manually.
  2. Enter your two-factor authentication code when prompted.
  3. Click Authorize to grant TrusDrivenCare access.

WHAT THIS AUTHORIZATION COLLECTS

✅ Appointment data

✅ Patient data

❌ Sales data (not yet available via Jane API — requires staff member connection)


NEXT STEP

To see sales numbers in your TrustDrivenCare dashboard, you will need to connect your Jane staff member. This is covered in the next article/video in the series.

Once both the API and staff member connections are active, your full dashboard — appointments, patients, and sales — will be populated automatically.
